District Grants Committee Member

Position Summary

As a member of the District Grants Committee, this role supports the administration and management of District Designated Funds (DDF) used for district grants within District 6270. This position is crucial in assisting Rotary clubs to execute projects that fulfill the mission of The Rotary Foundation. The Committee Member aids in ensuring cooperation within the District Foundation, stewardship, and other related committees.

One year, renewable

Key Responsibilities:

One or more of the following:

·         Assist in liaising for District Grants within District 6270, addressing inquiries and providing support.

·         Help in promoting District Grant opportunities in partnership with the Public Image Committee and the District Grants Committee.

·         Support the evaluation and recommendation of policy changes pertaining to District Grants.

·         Participate in District Grant Committee meetings and contribute to meaningful discussions and decisions.

·         Aid in developing and delivering training on District Grants alongside the District Trainer and Technology Committees.

·         Contribute to managing the grant application process, ensuring a smooth and effective operation.

·         Help implement the grant reporting process and assist in the assessment of submissions.

·         Offer support to clubs in preparing grant applications and advise on grant policies and requirements.

·         Promote and practice stewardship and transparency in the management of District funds, encouraging and supporting timely reporting.

·         Review grant applications and support the decision-making process for the allocation of funds.

·         Work with the Grant Committee to appraise grant reports and monitor the progress of projects.

·         Maintain a commitment to integrity and transparency in grant-related activities, adhering to the conflict-of-interest policies.

·         Coordinate with The Rotary Foundation staff as necessary for guidance and compliance.

·         Monitor the status of DDF alongside the Committee Chair and ensure proper tracking of funds.

·         Assist the District Treasurer in managing DDF disbursements.

·         Support the District Foundation Chair in recruiting qualified Rotarians for the Committee.

Qualifications:

·         Must be a Rotarian in good standing within District 6270.

·         Strong organizational and listening skills.

·         Experience in grants management, including writing, applying for, and reporting on grants is beneficial.

·         Prior service on the District Grants Committee or similar experience is preferred.

·         Familiarity with database and online reporting tools.
