Position Summary:
The District
PolioPlus Committee Member supports the Committee Chair in driving the
district's polio eradication initiatives under Rotary International's PolioPlus
program. This role involves participating in awareness, fundraising, and
advocacy efforts to support the eradication of polio. Members play a key role
in implementing strategies, facilitating events, and promoting club
participation in the PolioPlus goals.
Key Responsibilities:
One or more of the following:
- Assist
in the development and execution of strategies to raise funds for
PolioPlus, collaborating closely with club leaders and other committee
members.
- Help
organize and support district-wide PolioPlus events and awareness
campaigns to increase community involvement and support.
- Educate
and inform new and existing Rotary members about the significance of the
polio eradication effort and encourage their active participation in
fundraising and advocacy.
- Serve
as a supportive link between the District PolioPlus Committee Chair and
club members, ensuring smooth communication and effective dissemination of
program goals and achievements.
- Monitor
and report on the progress of individual clubs towards their PolioPlus
goals to the Committee Chair, sharing insights and successful tactics
across the district.
- Support
club leadership in setting and achieving aggressive annual PolioPlus
goals, including facilitating at least one major fundraiser per club
annually.
- Participate
in reporting the district’s financial contributions and activities related
to PolioPlus to both the district leadership and Rotary International.
- Promote
a collaborative and enthusiastic atmosphere among all Rotary members to
enhance engagement and effectiveness in polio eradication efforts.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated
commitment to and understanding of Rotary’s mission to eradicate polio.
- Experience
in supporting fundraising, advocacy, or public awareness campaigns within
Rotary or similar organizations.
- Strong
organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate
activities and engage a diverse group of stakeholders.
