Position Summary:

As the Chair of the Peace Fellowships Committee, this individual plays a vital role in guiding the district's efforts to identify and support candidates for the esteemed Rotary Peace Fellowships. By working closely with applicants and overseeing the selection process, the Chair helps promote Rotary’s commitment to peace and conflict resolution, ensuring that the district endorses candidates with the greatest potential to make a meaningful impact in advancing peace worldwide.

Term:

One Year, renewable

Key Responsibilities:

·         Leadership: Guide the Peace Fellowships Committee's efforts in alignment with Rotary's mission and goals.

·         Meetings: Convene and chair regular committee meetings to strategize and review the fellowship endorsement process.

·         Training: Ensure all committee members complete the annual Rotary Peace Fellowships endorser training and stay informed about program developments.

·         Website Oversight: Supervise the update and maintenance of the Rotary Peace Fellowships content on the District 6270 website.

·         Program Promotion: Spearhead promotional activities to raise awareness of the fellowships within the district and at key educational institutions.

·         Applicant Guidance: Lead the support for fellowship applicants, providing expertise to aid in the preparation of their applications.

·         Interviews and Selection: Oversee the interview and evaluation process, ensuring a fair and effective selection of candidates for endorsement.

·         Endorsement and Communication: Write or delegate the writing of endorsements or declinations for applicants, reflecting thorough assessment and insight.

·         Publicity Management: Coordinate the creation of publicity materials showcasing the district's Rotary Peace Fellows and their achievements.

·         Fellow Engagement: Establish and maintain communication with endorsed fellows to follow their progress and involve them in district activities.

·         District Integration: Integrate Rotary Peace Fellows into district and club events to highlight the impact of the fellowships.
