District Water and Sanitation Committee Chair

Position Summary:

The Rotary District Water and Sanitation Committee Chair is responsible for spearheading Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives within the district. The Chair promotes WASH projects, supports clubs in accessing resources, encourages the use of Water & Sanitation Rotarian Action Group (WASH-RAG) tools, and collaborates with the International Committee on global grants for WASH projects.

District Governor and District Service Projects Chair

Term:

One year, renewable

Key Responsibilities:

·         Project Promotion: Advocate for the importance of WASH projects and promote active engagement within the district.

·         Resource Facilitation: Serve as a liaison to clubs, providing them with materials and resources related to WASH projects, ensuring clubs are well-equipped to undertake and manage such initiatives.

·         WASH-RAG Utilization: Encourage and facilitate the use of WASH-RAG resources among clubs for the planning and execution of WASH projects.

·         Global Grant Support: Work in conjunction with the International Committee to assist clubs with the application and management of Rotary global grants for WASH-related projects.

·         Strategic Planning: Develop strategic plans to increase the number and impact of WASH projects within the district.

·         Educational Initiatives: Organize training and informational sessions for clubs about best practices in WASH and the successful implementation of related projects.

·         Collaboration: Cultivate partnerships with organizations and other Rotary action groups to enhance the effectiveness of WASH projects.

Requirements:

·         Passion for WASH: A strong interest in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene projects, with a commitment to improving these areas both locally and globally.

·         Advisory Skills: Ability to serve as an advisor to clubs, providing guidance and expertise in the realm of WASH initiatives.

·         Knowledge of WASH-RAG: Familiarity with the Water & Sanitation Rotarian Action Group and its plethora of resources and best practices.

·         Project Management: Experience with project management, particularly in relation to Rotary grants, with the ability to oversee project lifecycles from conception through completion.
